Post 2: The Best Concert ever

Imagen
Well, I haven't been to many concerts in my life, but I went to one huge festival (probably this counts as going to a lot of concerts), the famous "Lollapalooza", which, as u might know, lasts between 2 to 3 days, with more than 40 bands, 8 stages, and a lot of entertainment. This festival happens every year, and it changes the "line-up", so the variety of artists and groups changes a lot. I've always wanted to go, but it is really expensive (I personally think it is way too expensive) so I've was kind of against it.  But well, my love story with Lollapalooza started when I knew that Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, LCD Soundsystem, Mac DeMarco, The Neighbourhood, Metronomy, Lana del Rey and Tash Sultana were going to be there. I was thinking: "I can't, I really can't miss this! I love them all so much, and I haven't been to more than one concert before". For my (sometimes) very good luck, I had been working the previous month

Post 1: A Country I would like to visit

Which country I would like to go to? That's a hard question. I've been in Europe and I totally love it, my favourite city in the world is London, but well, I haven't been everywhere, so I might be wrong.  If I think about food (the most important thing in life, obviously) India sounds perfect... Spicy dishes with such special flavors on it, the taste of Indian food is magic for me. A little while ago I tried "Kulfi", which is Indian ice cream, made with natural ingredients like pistachio, almonds, and fruits. I'm a big fan of sweets, and this is literally the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. I actually think this is why I am picking India as my country to go to.  On the other hand, and being more realistic (cause I would't go to India just to be eating all day, it was just a joke) I would love to visit the palaces, mausoleums, like the famous Taj Mahal, and all the beautiful buildings with the great and special architecture that India

Welcome

Hi, my name is Gracia Barros and I'm 21 years old. I am a 3rd year Chemistry student. This is the first English class I'm taking in the university, so I haven't really practiced the language (or at least my writing skills) lately. What I think are my weaknesses in English must be my vocabulary, I feel like I have troubles when I try to speak, I mix up some words and get nervous, so I´m not confident enough to speak relaxed in public.  My strengths might be that I have a understandable accent, I have lived with a lot of foreign people, and the only way to communicate with them has been speaking in English, even though they are from countries like China, France, Germany, and others.   My expectations for this class are to practice speaking English in public enough so I get the confidence to speak freely when I travel or meet people in the future.
